Margaret Millett
The Business Continuity Institute (BCI) is proud to have presented the 2025 Continuity & Resilience Volunteer Award to Margaret J. Millett, recognizing selfless and significant voluntary contributions to the continuity and resilience community. With more than 30 years of industry experience, Margaret embodies the spirit of volunteerism, having consistently supported the growth and evolution of the field on a global scale.
Her contributions to the BCI include serving as a member and Vice Chair of the Women in Resilience (WiR) SIG, as well as speaking at events such as Business Continuity Awareness Week, Education Month, and the World Conference. She has also served as a judge for the BCI's regional and global awards, sits on advisory boards for resilience organizations, and has mentored eight professionals worldwide contributing over 200 voluntary hours to mentoring alone in the past year.
The judging panel praised her work, noting "clear evidence of voluntary contributions over a 12-month period... with tangible results," and highlighting her "unmistaken passion, grounded in professional competency and a voluntary contribution that has made a real difference." They also emphasized her unmatched dedication to the global continuity and resilience community and her commitment to inspiring and empowering others.
This award also marks Margaret's induction into the BCI Hall of Fame, a distinction awarded when an individual wins the same category three times. Margaret previously won the Continuity & Resilience Volunteer Award at the 2022 Americas Awards, and with her 2025 Americas and 2025 Global wins, she has now completed the three required victories. She was additionally honored with the BCI Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.
